Here’s How We Reimagine Language Support

Workshops

These workshops can be adapted for half-day, full-day, or 2-day engagements. All workshops will be tailored to the needs of your school and include resources that your teachers can implement in their teaching the very next day.

Supporting ELLs with Precision

Supporting English Language Learners With Precision

This workshop equips educators with practical frameworks to accurately assess where students are, what progress looks like, and how long it typically takes. Participants will learn how to apply the proficiency frameworks of your choice (WIDA, CEFR, etc.) to inform instruction, set achievable growth targets, and monitor student development with clarity and confidence.

Participants will leave with:

  • A working understanding of a language proficiency framework (WIDA, CEFR, or school-based).

  • Clear expectations for language growth over time.

  • Practical ways to set & track meaningful progress goals.

  • Resources to identify & track learners' language progress.

EAL-Aligned Curriculum Design

EAL-Aligned Curriculum Design: Bridging Language and Content

This workshop supports departments and EAL teams to align curriculum, instruction, and assessment—either by embedding EAL strategies into existing units or by developing parallel models that meaningfully connect to mainstream courses. The session focuses on practical approaches to ensure language development and content learning work in tandem, improving coherence, access, and outcomes for students.

Participants will leave with:

  • A clear model for aligning EAL and mainstream curriculum.

  • Strategies to adapt existing units to better support multilingual learners.

  • Guidance on developing parallel EAL pathways that complement core subjects.

  • Tools for collaboration between subject teachers and EAL specialists.

EAL-ify TOK

EAL-ify TOK and Other Conceptual Subjects

Teachers often face a dilemma: how do you support multilingual learners without simplifying the thinking? This workshop reframes the challenge—language is the barrier, not cognition—and introduces practical strategies to make abstract, concept-heavy content accessible without lowering academic expectations.

Participants will leave with:

  • Practical strategies to support language without reducing cognitive demand.

  • Scaffolds for making abstract concepts and academic language more accessible.

  • Classroom and thinking routines that increase participation and foster critical thinking skills.

  • Ready-to-use resources that can be implemented immediately across subject areas.

Translanguaging

Translanguaging – Beyond the Buzzword

Translanguaging offers a powerful way to remove language barriers without reducing academic challenge. This workshop explores how strategically leveraging students’ full linguistic repertoires can improve the quality of research, deepen understanding, and elevate written output.

  • Examples of translanguaging in practice.

  • Practical strategies to use translanguaging to support research, idea generation, and the quality and complexity of student writing.

  • Clear guidelines for reducing over-reliance on translation tools.

  • Classroom routines that integrate students’ home languages as an academic asset.

Ongoing Partnerships

For schools seeking deeper, sustained impact, ongoing partnerships provide strategic and instructional support over time. These partnerships move beyond one-off workshops to focus on implementation—embedding effective EAL practices across classrooms, leveraging data to inform decision-making, and aligning curriculum to strengthen whole-school systems.

Depending on your school’s needs, this partnership may include:

Strategy & Systems

Strategy & Systems

  • Comprehensive EAL program audit. (systems, instruction, student access)

  • Strategic report, implementation roadmap, and guided rollout.

  • Language Policy review and alignment with school mission.
